Chapter 8: Maintaining Energy for School While Social Distancing at Home
During this global health crisis, we are required to practice social distancing by staying home. Home represents a place of comfort, where we relax and break away from the stresses of the outside world. However, for students, home has now become our new place of education, forcing us to bring academic stress home on a full-time basis.
Conducting your academic studies from home can make it difficult for you to separate your comforting home life from your demanding academic life. As a result, the comfort of your home may distract you from fulfilling academic requirements, finding yourself struggling to build the drive and energy to complete your academic assignments. Instead of completing homework, you may want to stay in bed, as if it were summer vacation.
To help you maintain the energy and drive to conduct your academic studies, I have the following three tips:

- Go to Bed Early.

Eat and Drink Energizing Foods

Eating and drinking energizing foods can help you overcome feelings of laziness and sluggishness, which I like to call the summer vacation effect. Personally, eating fruits and drinking lemon water has aided in restoring my energy. Specifically, the acidity and the sourness of the lemon in my water makes me more alert and energized to complete my homework.
Go to Bed Early

Knowing that you do not have to wake up early to attend school, you may be tempted to stay up late to watch your favorite TV shows and movies. However, going to bed late each night can drain your energy during the day, limiting the amount of effort you give towards school. By going to bed early, you can preserve your energy and feel the drive to accomplish your academic goals.
Remain Active

If you're like me, you have been sitting down and doing homework at your computer for long hours each day. To improve your brain activity, you should engage in physical activity. If you walk around your home or do a short workout every once in a while, you can clear your head, feeling refreshed and recharged to finish your academic assignment.
